Why Ajmal Amir Kasav should live....

Everyone has an opinion....he should be hanged, publicly; he should be given a fair trail.....& then hanged; should be hanged at the Gateway and allowed by the general public to go slap him, maybe just prick him with a pin; should be fed only pure veg green vegatabes; others more violent, ghastly - like showing him RGV ki Aag (He likes Big B's movies na?)
Eitherways, everyone believes he should be set as an example of how strongly we will deal with terroism acts in the future.
While everyone has been hell bent on punishing him, i am yet to hear a voice asking him to be left alone.....allowed to live....grow back into the society.
If i had my way, i wouldnt really be too harsh on him. He may afterall be a victim of circumstances. A poor chap, seen poverty all his life, wanted the easy way out, was sought out by those who have thier own agendas to take care of, brainwashed, misled, sent out on a suicidal mission. Now he is more scared about his family's well being.....& has probably lost it forever.....i guess i would be kind to him, counsel him, make him live, make him believe in life, in humanity, give him a job, let him develop a self worth, make him a part of society, let him earn some respect, friends, get attached to the world, make him smile, forget hatred, maybe even make him an ambassador for peace, going out & telling other youth how not be mislead, let him believe in goodness of life.....
& then pray to God, some one takes him hostage & shoots him. He should see death coming. He should see all beatiful things coming to an end.

Tell me this.....

How do bonafide terrorists, armed with all the ammumnition in the world, can easily enter any area & why am i subjected to inane "car boot" & "switch on the laptop" checks??

20-30 guys just walk into a city, with AK-47 , no less, & the ATS & police or informers have no clue??? Ofcourse not, they are too busy labelling terror.....

What crap!

Dada retires....

Believers of "VRS scheme for seniors" will have a field day, but that takes away nothing from the greatness of the man we all know as "Dada". Sourav Ganguly announced retirement from international cricket, after the upcoming India - Australia test series. We will miss the leadership, the grit , the focus, the style, the arrogance , not to mention smart articlulate person on cricket.

All the best Dada!!!

Unfortunately, this will increase pressure on other seniors......

Only if you love cricket.....& sports....

Lovely article......

She pulled the trigger........now, face the recoil

And finally they have decided to say TATA to Singur........which is good business sense, & bad for the politcos, cos the government & the opposition both have ended up looking glum, & by the look on Mamata Banerjee's she is shit scared, never thought Tata would actually pull out.....all her agitation (funded by Tata's rivals??? ofcourse!!) would have earned her votes...........now that they have pulled out , she is going to face a backlash....because all the 11k farmer who gave their land, took up alternate vocations are gonna ask her questions about their future....after all, the land is not exactly cultivable now, & given the nature of troubled past & present issues industries faced at Singur, i doubt anyone else will set up shop there....

& if she has no answers, she is in trouble......she is in trouble anyways.....

I have a feeling things will still change here, too much is at stake, vis-a-vis local issues, Nano's costing, Brand India, Brand Bengal,Brand Tata ("A promise is a promise"), et al.....to my mind this pull out announcement, subsequent protests are all pressure tactics...... i will not be surprised if in the next few days, Mamta Banerjee withdraws her agitation "in the larger interests of people of Singur" :-)

She must be cursing he "backers" like anything now......

Thoughts.........

For the last few years, India, along with China, has been a favourite investment destination for MNC’s across segments. Be it Auto, retail, engineering, IT, software, India has attracted investments from the top organizations across the globe. A politically stable country, resilient economy with a wide base in agriculture, mining, manufacturing & services coupled with a huge domestic market has drawn the world attention towards India. Brand India had arrived.

Now that all the euphoria has died down, & economies are seeing a general meltdown, plus issues at the ground level, a question on most people’s mind is will India be able to live up to its promise?

Recent issues like communal strife (J&K, Orrisa, Karnataka), terror attacks, protests against land acquisition (Singur, Nandgram, Raigad), a flawed SEZ policy, lack of labour reforms / policy have cast shadows on the projected growth of investments. The protests against the Tata plant at Singur & the imminent pullout have elicited sharp comments from industry watchers & potential investors about the effect it will have on investment opportunities in West Bengal & India. Similar issues are faced by corporate in other segments like retail across the country.

The establishment’s inability to find sustainable solutions to these problems has created a doubt in the minds of investors regarding the viability of their investments. Such incidents reflect poorly on the planning & political will of the Indian State to take care of the interests of all stakeholders involved. In this context, China with its planned SEZ policy & more transparent dealings seems to be a better destination

India supporters like L.N.Mittal & Indra Nooyi believe things can improve a lot given all parties across the board rise above personal benefits. The state should initiate a dialogue with everyone concerned & reach a consensus before taking any concrete steps. The need of the hour is a political& social will to deal with the issues plaguing Brand India

Unanswered prayers.........& making God laugh...

Maine maangi thi, masjido main dua
main jise chahta hoon vo mujhse mile,

Gar khuda hi na chahe to, main kya karu.....???

God knows who wrote this, was in context of love lost but very apt in a lot of situations life has to offer.....is it not?

Mom says i use this to blame God for my failures, but then i feel why shoudnt i? dont i thank God when something good happens......If he can take credit, take blame as well.....but not many agree with me......kya karen??

Now tell me, all those people who believe in God, pray for themselves, others, a safe world, peace, end of evil, simple happy living, satisfaction.....& then go on to become a victim of circumstances not in thier hands........can be anything......i mean, as bad as losing family.......how are they able to still believe God is taking care of them? Are they able to sustain the belief they have in God & his all pervading power?

When i posed this question to some elders, i was told believers take these as a part of God's plan - in the larger scheme of things, some even thank God for saving them from worse possibilities!! So they are able to sustain the belief & go back to praying, etc......good for them, though i think its more out of fear - to sheild themselves from further troubles......

Not that i am a non-believer, i definitely believe in God (in all the varoius avtaars, globally)....because i dont see other explanation to some good or bad that things happen to me....wat i cannot get is why i cannot be angry with God? Why do people get horrified when i say i am friends with God, & i do not need to give a haazari or bribe him regularly so that i have a nice life.....after all, good or bad, God is not asking me before deciding the course of my life....then why should be scared?? & hypocritic..??? I might as well live carefree....have my equation with God, do my work(karm?),not worry about consequences.....they are not in my hand anyways right?
As i write it , i realise thats what Bhagvad Gita's most famous takeout is........hmmmm......so , prayers may or may not be answered, but if you wanna make God laugh, tell him your future plans.........

Take care guys....& watch TV....

We cant say we were not cautioned. The warning was there for us loud & clear. We chose not to heed it.....or lets say intelligence agencies did not have their antennas tuned to the right messages.... but it was all predicted....right from the days of high risk,to the potential trouble causes ,to all the steps that can be taken to prevent such things from happening, or at least minimise their impact....everything was set out in great detail....but no, sleuths decided not to listen to any of it..& went about doing things like they have always done......keeping tabs on suspect organisations, having a fleet of mukhbirs (informers), being on the look out for suspicious movements, issuing instructions to the general public, beefing up security ........but they did not do one important thing.........

They did not check the hindi news channels !!!
Yes, thats right. Apparently some of the pandits & jyotishis ( astrologers ) on these channels had predicted the world will be a dangerous place to stay in the months of June, July & August......21st June was supposed to be the start of this period expected to end on Aug 9th......& the disasters likely to happen in this period will be man-made or natural..... terrorist attacks (India, Iraq, Istanbul), political turmoils (India, Pakistan, Nepal.....even the Labour Government in UK is in trouble!!) & what not......
But what attracted the most attention was the terrorist attacks......killing scores of people, injuring or maiming others for life....mostly across Asia

India has seen a lot of such things in the recent past..starting with the Amarnath Shrine Board issue, to riots in Indore, the trust vote, note- for - vote, & the terrorist attacks ..........& its been really surprised by the sheer audacity of the people who planned the attacks in Ahmedabad, Bangalore & Surat (well, almost)....the magnitude of planning this must have taken, the number of people involved, the logistical support available & used, the means, the technology, the widespread network of the operatives ...its all mind boggling....& yet not a whiff of it reached our security agencies...while its a given that there was a "heavy local support" for these activities....the real master minds might never be found.....

On the face of it, given the low intensity, almost crude bombs used .....the idea seems to create panic.....& it looks like they are successful in that......schools closed, malls shut down, heavy bandobast, even the poor Mumbai dabbawallahs being subjected to checks.....we are not taking any chances....

The political parties have started playing their own games on the issue.....the lack of a political will to strengthen the countries internal security is cited to be the main reason why we are seeing increasing instances of such terror attacks....... why, some even suggest its an insider job.....what with one lady even saying the blasts are a conspiracy to distract the nation from the "note for vote" scam.....

The people of India & especially communally sensitive areas need to be congratulated on keeping their cool in such trying times...

Having lived in Mumbai, & been witness to some terrorist attacks, its really unnerving to see the panic that has set in.....its almost like we are not trusting faces we do not know .... in some cases, even those we do know.....arent we playing into the hands of such people? I mean there is no harm in being careful, but guys, all one has to do keep his/her eyes & ears open !! A bit of trust, some common sense, & some co-operation with all those brave heart cops who try their best to provide us security, & we should all be fine.....
& ofcourse, do not forget to check the predictions!!!
